The Ava wooden bed is crafted from a single material: solid beech. We chose solid beech slats to create the Kipli bed base for both its durability and its aesthetic appeal. The solid beech used comes from forests in Normandy, located less than 100 km from our woodworking workshops in Picardy. The Ava bed with its Kipli slatted base therefore has a low environmental impact due to reduced transportation, and its manufacturing process helps support local employment. Furthermore, the solid wood used in the Kipli bed comes from PEFC-certified forests, which guarantees sustainable and environmentally responsible harvesting. Solid wood is also a true carbon sink because it stores CO2. The Kipli wooden bed is durable not only because of its construction but also because of its aesthetic appeal. Indeed, our goal was to create a wooden bed with a simple, clean, and timeless design so that it could adapt to any interior and any trend. Furthermore, the sturdiness of the material used in the Kipli bed and slatted frame allows it to stand the test of time, thereby avoiding the need to replace the furniture frequently.To promote a toxin-free home environment, we decided to create a wooden bed free of toxic substances.First, the use of solid wood allows us to avoid engineered wood panels, which often contain harmful agents such as formaldehyde. Furthermore, the paints and varnishes typically used emit VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and are the primary cause of indoor pollution. Therefore, we use a natural, water-based, VOC-free varnish that protects the natural color of the beech wood in our light-colored bed. As for the dark-colored bed, its color is achieved by applying an oil finish.

That’s why this bed with a box spring is available with two different types of slats.If you prefer a firmer sleeping surface, we recommend the Picardie wooden bed with rigid slats. The flexible slats, on the other hand, provide a more welcoming, comfortable feel. We also offer the option to add a solid wood headboard to your Kipli slatted base.To create a harmonious bedroom with healthy, eco-friendly furniture, you can complete this set with the Picardie nightstand and dresser. These two products are crafted in the same way as the Kipli bed with slatted base: from solid beech sourced from Normandy’s forests and made in Mathieu’s woodworking workshops in Picardy.The Kipli bed, available in dark or light wood, is guaranteed for 5 years against any manufacturing defects or flaws. Like all our bed frames, it is delivered free of charge within 10 to 15 business days. The bed with slatted base is delivered as a kit. As an option, our delivery team can assemble your Kipli wooden bed for you. And if you’d like, they can also take away your old slatted base. Finally, you can pay for the bed with slatted base in 3 installments at no extra cost.
